Innovative Solutions in Chemistry S.L. (ISC-Science)

ISC-SCIENCE is a company founded at the beginning of 2003 with the main objective of developing new applications for the analysis of compounds of interest in chemical testing laboratories, in the environmental, agro-food and clinical areas.

The team

Ruben Garcia

Sales Area Manager

Degree in Chemical Sciences from the University of Oviedo with doctoral studies in the Department of Analytical Chemistry. He is a founding partner of ISC Science and started his professional career as ICP-MS Specialist in Spain for Agilent Technologies, training users in this technique and implementing analysis methodologies. Since 2006, he has been advising laboratories on the acquisition of analytical instrumentation, mainly in chromatographic and mass spectrometric techniques. He currently holds the position of Sales Area Manager at ISC-Science.

Julio Rodríguez Fernández, PhD

Manager of ISC-SCIENCE : Responsible for the Quality Area.

D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Oviedo, a graduate in Occupational Risk Prevention and a qualified Lead Auditor for third party audits in accordance with the requirements of the UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard and those contained in other documents relating to the accreditation of testing and calibration laboratories. He has more than 20 years of experience in the field of quality consultancy in testing and calibration laboratories in the agri-food, environmental and clinical sectors. Since 2003 he has held the position of Manager of Innovative Solutions in Chemistry, S.L. as well as Head of the Quality Area of this organization.

Giuseppe Centineo, PhD

R&D&I Manager and MR Production Area Manager.

D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Oviedo, and a degree in Chemistry from the University of Dortmund (Germany). He has more than 20 years of experience in the field of development of analytical methodologies by isotope dilution and preparation and certification of certified reference materials. Since 2006 he has been responsible for RDi and Head of the MR Production Area at ISC-Science.

José Ángel Rodríguez Castrillón, PhD

Head of spectroscopy and expert in ICP-MS applications.

D. in chemistry from the University of Oviedo. Since 2016, he has been in charge of sales and consulting in spectroscopic techniques (ICP-MS, FTIR, ICP-OES…). José Ángel is a trainer of the ICP-MS technique with more than 15 years of experience in the sector implementing different methodologies in Spain, Portugal and Latin America.

Daniel García Sar, PhD

Responsible for the Commercial Section.

D. in Analytical Chemistry with International Mention from the University of Oviedo. He has more than 15 years of professional experience in internationally recognized laboratories, such as the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm (Sweden), and the English company LGC Limited (UK). He has also held positions of responsibility in several national laboratories specialized in the determination of organic contaminants, biochemistry, environment and the agri-food sector. He is the author of numerous international scientific publications, technical reports and presentations at national and international congresses. Currently, he is responsible for the commercial section of Innovative Solutions in Chemistry, S.L.

Patricia de los Santos Álvarez, PhD

Quality manager.

D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Oviedo, specializing in electrochemistry. Graduate in Occupational Risk Prevention and Chief Auditor qualified to perform third party audits in accordance with the requirements of the UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard. Patricia is ISC’s quality manager and a consultant and auditor for chemical and microbiological laboratories. She has developed her experience in the agri-food and environmental field as Quality Manager, consultant, trainer and environmental inspector in accordance with UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025 and UNE-EN ISO 17020 standards. ISC supports laboratories in the diagnosis of their areas of improvement and in the enhancement of their strengths, guiding them in the implementation of quality management standards, validation of test methods or on their way to accreditation.

Javier García Calleja, PhD

ICP-MS Applications Specialist | Torres Quevedo Postdoc (2024-2027)

Analytical and environmental chemist trained at the University of Oviedo and University of Pau, France. Javier teaches ICP-MS training courses and implements methodologies in several analytical laboratories in Spain. Simultaneously, Javier is working on the characterization and certification of new Certified Reference Materials (CRM) in metals thanks to the Torres Quevedo postdoctoral fellowship (2024-2027). During his doctoral stay in Pau, France, Javier specialized in the development of isotope dilution analytical methodologies and their application to investigate the reactivity of mercury species in the environment through incubation experiments with enriched isotopes.

Laura Rodríguez Fernández

Administrative Assistant

Laura holds the position of administrative assistant in the company. She is responsible for answering telephone calls, providing information to callers or transferring them to the appropriate persons, ordering supplies, receiving and distributing mail and e-mail correspondence, invoicing, accounting support, maintaining a filing system, contacting suppliers, and data processing, entering and maintaining up-to-date information in computer systems, spreadsheets and databases.
