The team
Ruben Garcia
Head of the Sales Department
Rubén García holds a degree in Chemistry from the University of Oviedo and completed doctoral studies in the Department of Analytical Chemistry. He is a founding partner of ISC-SCIENCE and began his professional career as an ICP-MS Specialist at Agilent Technologies in Spain, where he trained users and implemented analytical methodologies. Since 2006, Rubén has been advising laboratories on the acquisition of analytical instrumentation, with a focus on chromatographic techniques and mass spectrometry. Currently, he serves as the Head of the Sales Department at ISC-SCIENCE.
Julio Rodríguez Fernández, PhD
General Manager of ISC-SCIENCE : Head of Quality Department.
Dr. Julio Rodríguez Fernández holds a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Oviedo and is a certified Safety Officer and Lead Auditor qualified to conduct third-party audits in accordance with UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025 and other relevant laboratory accreditation documents. With over 20 years of experience in quality consulting for testing and calibration laboratories in the agro-food, environmental, and clinical sectors, Julio has been the General Manager of Innovative Solutions in Chemistry, S.L. and Head of the Quality Department since 2003.
Giuseppe Centineo, PhD
Head of R&D and Production Area for Reference Materials
Dr. Giuseppe Centineo holds a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Oviedo and a degree in Chemistry from the University of Dortmund (Germany). With over 20 years of experience in developing analytical methodologies using isotopic dilution and in the preparation and certification of certified reference materials, Giuseppe has served as the Head of R&D and the Production Area for Reference Materials at ISC-SCIENCE since 2006.

José Ángel Rodríguez Castrillón, PhD
Head of Spectroscopy and ICP-MS Applications Expert
Dr. José Ángel Rodríguez Castrillón earned his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Oviedo. Since 2016, he has been responsible for sales and consultancy in spectroscopic techniques, including ICP-MS, FTIR, and ICP-OES. With over 15 years of experience in the field, José Ángel specializes in training and implementing ICP-MS methodologies across Spain, Portugal, and Latin America.
Daniel García Sar, PhD
Head of the Commercial Section
Dr. Daniel García Sar holds a PhD in Analytical Chemistry with International Mention from the University of Oviedo. He has over 15 years of professional experience in internationally renowned laboratories, including the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm (Sweden) and LGC Limited (UK). He has also held significant roles in various national laboratories specializing in organic contaminant analysis, biochemistry, environmental science, and the agro-food sector. Dr. García Sar is the author of numerous international scientific publications, technical reports, and has presented at national and international conferences. Currently, he leads the Commercial Section at Innovative Solutions in Chemistry, S.L.

Patricia de los Santos Álvarez, PhD
Quality Manager
Dr. Patricia de los Santos Álvarez holds a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Oviedo, specializing in Electrochemistry. She is also a qualified Occupational Risk Prevention Specialist and Lead Auditor for third-party audits in accordance with UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025 requirements. Patricia is the Quality Manager at ISC and serves as a consultant and auditor for chemical and microbiological laboratories. Her extensive experience spans the agro-food and environmental sectors, where she has worked as a Quality Manager, consultant, trainer, and environmental inspector, in compliance with UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025 and UNE-EN ISO 17020 standards. At ISC, she supports laboratories in diagnosing areas for improvement and enhancing their strengths, guiding them in implementing quality management standards, validating testing methods, and achieving accreditation.

Javier García Calleja, PhD
ICP-MS Applications Specialist | Postdoctoral Researcher
Javier is an Analytical and Environmental Chemist trained at the University of Oviedo and the University of Pau, France. He specializes in delivering ICP-MS training courses and implementing methodologies in various analytical laboratories across Spain. Concurrently, Javier is working on the characterization and certification of new Certified Reference Materials (CRM) in metals as part of his Torres Quevedo postdoctoral fellowship (2024-2027). During his doctoral studies in Pau, France, he focused on developing analytical methodologies for isotopic dilution and investigating the reactivity of mercury species in the environment through incubation experiments with enriched isotopes.

Laura Rodríguez Fernández
Administrative Assistant
Laura Rodríguez Fernández serves as the Administrative Assistant at ISC-SCIENCE. Her responsibilities include answering phone calls, providing information or transferring callers to the appropriate personnel, managing supply orders, receiving and distributing both postal and electronic correspondence, handling invoicing, supporting accounting tasks, maintaining filing systems, contacting suppliers, and processing data. She ensures that information is entered and kept up-to-date in computer systems, spreadsheets, and databases.
