We were tasked with implementing quality management systems in several high-profile laboratories, including Galletas Gullón (Production Control Company), Centro de Investigación del Medio Ambiente de Cantabria (CIMA) (Environmental and Contamination Monitoring Lab), and SGIker of the University of the Basque Country (Research Institution).

Internal Audits
Organizations such as as Trouw Nutrition (Spain), the Red de Control de la Contaminación Atmosférica de Valladolid (RCCAVA), and Labdial among others required internal audits to ensure compliance with UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025 and ENAC accreditation requirements.
ISC-SCIENCE conducted thorough internal audits to assess compliance with accreditation standards. We identified areas for improvement and provided actionable recommendations to address any deviations.
The laboratories were well-prepared for external accreditation audits, having resolved identified issues and implemented recommended changes. This process helped maintain their accredited status and improved overall operational quality.
Training and Implementation of ICP-MS Applications.
At ISC-SCIENCE, we are proud to share success stories in the field of training and implementation of ICP-MS applications. Since the company was founded in 2003, we have given more than 150 training courses with Agilent in centers and companies such as Eurofilms-IPROMA, Endesa, Solvay, Eurecat, Chemo-Pharma or CSIC among others.
Our mission is to provide the necessary training and implement the applications to the analysis laboratories for their correct day-to-day operation. These laboratories seek to train personnel in the ICP-MS technique and to fine-tune analytical methodologies in order to improve the skills and efficiency of their staff in chemical analysis by ICP-MS. We design customized training programs based on the specific areas that clients ask us to strengthen. During the course we also advise our customers on how to achieve higher throughput and quality analytical results in ICP-MS analysis. Customer service and technical support after training is one of our strongest points. Our ISC-SCIENCE trainers are always available to resolve any questions or problems that may arise with the equipment. This translates into greater operational efficiency, a substantial improvement in the quality of work, and a decrease in errors.

IDEPA Project: Development of a process for the production of a certified reference material for the determination of trace elements in drinking water according to ISO 17034 standard.
Innovative Solutions in Chemistry S.L. has been the beneficiary of the grant awarded for the project with File No. IDE/2020/000444, in the framework of the call for grants aimed at Asturian companies for the development of R&D Projects in the Principality of Asturias granted by the Government of the Principality of Asturias through IDEPA and the Science, Technology and Innovation Plan (PCTI) 2018-2022, as from the European Union through the ERDF.
At the national level, the control of drinking water is carried out within the framework of Directive 98/83/EC and RD 140/2003 and its subsequent amendment RD 902/2018, which establishes in paragraph three of Article 1 the need for test methods for the control of drinking water to comply with the requirements of UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025, which establishes the need to have reference materials suitable for the intended use for the verification, validation and control of test methods. ENAC establishes in its metrological traceability policy the need to have traceable reference materials produced by organizations accredited under ISO 17034. Therefore, the development of reference materials for metals produced under an accredited system according to ISO 17034 criteria is essential in the process of production and control of water for human consumption.
During the development of the project a certified drinking water reference material was developed and the production process for manufacturing certified clean water reference materials was successfully accredited through ENAC and included in the scope of accreditation (accreditation no. 3/PMR004). ISC-Science is currently the only company at national level accredited by ENAC as a producer of Reference Materials for clean water. In view of the good results obtained in the project, ISC proceeded with the production of a new certified reference material for drinking water adapted to EU Directive 2020/2184, which establishes the technical-sanitary criteria for the quality of drinking water, its control and supply.
