Innovative Solutions in Chemistry, S.L. has had the privilege of collaborating with different organizations recognized in their sector, operating both nationally and internationally, through consulting with the objective of implementing quality management systems in their laboratories.
For example, laboratories in charge of production control of organizations such as Galletas Gullón, S.A., of environmental pollution control by the Administration such as the Environmental Research Center of Cantabria (CIMA) or organizations such as the General Research Services of the University of the Basque Country (SGIker) which supports leading research groups in areas of development and innovation are laboratories with which ISC-SCIENCE has implemented quality management systems.
The collaboration of Innovative Solutions and Chemistry, S.L. with these organizations has allowed them to develop analytical methods and implement quality management systems. This guarantees the technical competence of the activities carried out in its laboratories, giving its customers peace of mind in the results issued by them. The main purpose is to increase society’s confidence in the controls established by these organizations at both the agri-food and environmental levels, as well as to provide additional support for the results obtained from the research carried out in the research and development centers that use their services.
Internal audits
Innovative Solutions in Chemistry collaborates with leading organizations in their sectors of activity that have testing laboratories accredited in accordance with the UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025 reference standard in the field of technical competence of testing and calibration laboratories.
Innovative Solutions in Chemistry, performs internal audits to the laboratories of organizations such as Trouw Nutrition (Spain), La Red de Control de la Contaminación Atmosférica de Valladolid (RCCAVA) or Labdial (Laboratorio de Diagnósticos y Alimentación 2008, S.L.U.) among others in relation to compliance with the accreditation requirements established in the reference standard UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025 and those proposed by ENAC. The final objective is to prepare them to face an accreditation audit by the National Accreditation Entity (ENAC), collaborating in the resolution of deviations that may imply non-compliance with the requirements demanded.
We perform comprehensive audits of laboratory processes and operations, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions. We work closely with laboratory personnel to implement changes and improve quality. Our auditing services allow laboratories to face with peace of mind and guarantees the periodic audits they have to perform in order to maintain their accredited laboratory status.
Training and implementation of ICP-MS applications.
At ISC-SCIENCE, we are proud to share success stories in the field of training and implementation of ICP-MS applications. Since the company was founded in 2003, we have given more than 150 training courses with Agilent in centers and companies such as Eurofilms-IPROMA, Endesa, Solvay, Eurecat, Chemo or CSIC among others.
Our mission is to provide the necessary training and implement the applications to the analysis laboratories for their correct day-to-day operation. These laboratories seek to train personnel in the ICP-MS technique and to fine-tune analytical methodologies in order to improve the skills and efficiency of their staff in chemical analysis by ICP-MS. We design customized training programs based on the specific areas that clients ask us to strengthen. During the course we also advise our customers on how to achieve higher throughput and quality analytical results in ICP-MS analysis. Customer service and technical support after training is one of our strongest points. Our ISC-SCIENCE trainers are always available to resolve any questions or problems that may arise with the equipment. This translates into greater operational efficiency, a substantial improvement in the quality of work, and a decrease in errors.

IDEPA Project: Development of a process for the production of a certified reference material for the determination of trace elements in drinking water according to ISO 17034 standard.
Innovative Solutions in Chemistry S.L. has been the beneficiary of the grant awarded for the project with File No. IDE/2020/000444, in the framework of the call for grants aimed at Asturian companies for the development of R&D Projects in the Principality of Asturias granted by the Government of the Principality of Asturias through IDEPA and the Science, Technology and Innovation Plan (PCTI) 2018-2022, as from the European Union through the ERDF.
At the national level, the control of drinking water is carried out within the framework of Directive 98/83/EC and RD 140/2003 and its subsequent amendment RD 902/2018, which establishes in paragraph three of Article 1 the need for test methods for the control of drinking water to comply with the requirements of UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025, which establishes the need to have reference materials suitable for the intended use for the verification, validation and control of test methods. ENAC establishes in its metrological traceability policy the need to have traceable reference materials produced by organizations accredited under ISO 17034. Therefore, the development of reference materials for metals produced under an accredited system according to ISO 17034 criteria is essential in the process of production and control of water for human consumption.
During the development of the project a certified drinking water reference material was developed and the production process for manufacturing certified clean water reference materials was successfully accredited through ENAC and included in the scope of accreditation (accreditation no. 3/PMR004). ISC-Science is currently the only company at national level accredited by ENAC as a producer of Reference Materials for clean water. In view of the good results obtained in the project, ISC proceeded with the production of a new certified reference material for drinking water adapted to the new Royal Decree 3/2023 of January 10, 2023, which establishes the technical-sanitary criteria for the quality of drinking water, its control and supply.
